Ray Thomsen
BE (Hons) Head Design Engineer
Ray leads the Design Team and is also one of our Test Pilots. He has worked in aerodynamics analysis with the 'Skyboard' project and was a finalist in the 'Entre 40k' Entrepreneurship Challenge. Ray has also worked for Air New Zealand Engineering Services. Ray flies the Martin Jetpack regularly and flew the machine inside a building at the 2007 Company AGM

William Clemence
BE Mech (Hons) Nat Dip (Mech Eng) Nat Cert (M&D) Design Engineer
Bill has a broad range of experience in engineering, including industrial design and project management, practical engineering and theoretical skills. Bill has specialist skills in fabrication, machining, welding and software design programs. Previously a design engineer with Clemence Engineering, Bill has provided working solutions for industry based engineering problems for United Fisheries, Transrail, Talleys and Tegal. Bill flies the Jetpack on a regular basis.

Edward Fletcher
BE (Hons) Analytical Design Engineer
A recent university graduate, Edward brings theoretical, analytical and mathematical strengths to Martin Aircraft Company. Edward is responsible for leading the team in primary stress and strain analysis on crankshaft and fan shaft stress strain and finite elements. He also brings composite industry experience. Ed has been leading the design team on CAD/CAM integration. Ed has not yet flown the Jetpack. This is an oversight by the Managing Director (Glenn), that is raised by Ed on a regular basis.

Colin Dodge
Engine Development
Colin is a world renowned engine development specialist. He was a key member of the team that developed the Britten Motorcycle engine and has global experience with race development, testing and engine building. Colin's engine development skills are invaluable to us. Colin regularly flies the Martin Jetpack as a test pilot.

Neil Farrall
Avionics Development Engineer
Neil has been involved in a wide range of electronic development projects, including development of a stand alone avionics package for helicopter use. Neil's primary responsibilities at Martin Aircraft Company are development of electronics, avionics and pilot data display.
Stuart Holdaway
Stuart Holdaway Design, Engine and Electrical Technology
Stu trained in the Electrical and Electronic fields through apprenticeships and tertiary institutes, and also has considerable experience in the automotive mechanical and electrical trades in both cars and motorcycles. He has been involved with the Jetpack project for 20 years which gives him considerable knowledge and understanding of the technical development and the issues that have been addressed over this period. Some of his recent work has focused on the design and simulation of the engine and the electronic control systems.
